Bassmesh Pro is a Max for Live audio effect that uses a parallel filter to clear up the low end of whatever track you put it on based on a sidechain trigger. To do this, it applies a 6dB/oct low pass filter to the input signal, applies a sidechain-triggered custom envelope to the resulting signal, and then subtracts this from the dry signal. What this effectively creates is a hi pass filter that is completely bypassed when there’s no trigger - meaning your low end is untouched and intact - that smoothly transitions to a 6 dB/oct cut and back again based on the shape of your envelope. The cutoff of the hi pass doesn’t move, the only thing that changes is the effective blending of the dry and filtered signals. What this means is that you have a lovely gentle hi pass whenever there’s a kick drum, and an untouched dry signal the rest of the time.
